Fish Market Trip

On the 24th of March, we headed down to the Fish Market at Pyrmont. It was a great event with weather we can only hope for these days (a nice sunny day with clear skies).

We finally arrived at the Fish Market itself around 11AM (Malaysian timing as always) and began our venture. The first obstacle we had to overcome was finding a table to seat our fellowship. This wasn’t an easy task but eventually we decided to split up into two groups and successfully found our precious… Tables.img_0611.JPG

We had fresh sashimi, seafood platters, prawns and more delicacies of the ocean. For dessert, some of us had Eukit’s heaven-in-a-mouth ice lollies. As we basked ourselves in the sun, I can only assume that being the only fully-Malaysian table there, we were the noisiest ones around. But we all know, where there’s noise in Malaysia, there’s either violence or enjoyment - Yes, it was the latter ofcourse.

A successful trip and hopefully a great experience for all members who showed up!

Futsal League

Just a reminder that the 1st Autumn Futsal League will be starting TODAY, the 16th of April at 5pm till 7pm at the Unigym for the next 5 weeks, every Monday. We’ve got 6 teams competing for honour and glory(?) with interesting names such as Black Balls and Yong Wai King Fantasia. Come along and support your friends or just watch some fast-paced futsal action if you’re free! Also, at the end of week 8, there will be a Rock Climbing Event on the 28th of April (Saturday) at The Ledge Climbing Centre at Sydney Uni. It will start at 11am for 2 hours, followed by lunch at one of the mouth-watering restaurants at nearby Newtown. The cost of the rock climbing is only $10 and includes basic harness hire. Exclusively for the first 25 MSO members who email me back with their name, contact number and email! More information will be given later on. It is perfectly alright if you’ve never climbed EVER. This event is mainly geared towards first-timers and beginners although the Ledge is able to accomodate seasoned climbers as well! So, pen it down in your calendars and book your place NOW!

The Annual Sports Carnival

The annual Sports Carnival will be held this Saturday and Sunday, the 7th and 8th of April respectively. MSO will be contesting all six sports and we need YOUR support for our players. We are after all, the reigning champion among the 4 Malaysian Societies in Sydney! Details are as follows:-

7th April 2007
Time: 10am-4pm
Venue: Moore Park West Fields 17 & 18 (Refer to Map)
Directions: I think it is possible to get there by all 39x EXCEPT 393 and 395. As for 37x, as long as it goes through Anzac Parade to the city, it should pass by the fields. The fields are just after the Sydney High Schools.

8th April 2007
Time: 8am-5pm
Venue: Sydney Aquatic Sports Center (opposite University of Sydney)
Directions: Take a bus to Railway Square (393/395) and take any 42x buses at Stand D.

Please check the times the buses are running at http://www.131500.com as the buses run irregularly during Sundays/Public Holidays. For more information, please contact us.
